i am wondering if they used to put the downward filter sweep many times in short periods in different patches to get this resonance. and how many times did they put it if so. three times, four times, two times. 50 times. would it be possible...

This is possible to create on analog hardware.
Some VSTi could recreate them sounds.
But with analog for sure.
Very simple actually.

aje - what a question to ask especially with the word "exactly"
i dont think it matters if you use Vst or hardware, you can do it with both...
and for the Sliver Liners track i would try Rgc-audio- z3ta+ or a access virus TI or why not a Virus A,(B,C) But there are many synths to get nice sounds from... And what would the charm and innovation be if someone told us exactly how to do things?
Some old classic synths is
Korg ms 2000
Virus A
Roland tb 303
Roland Sh101
Juno 106
Yamaha An1x
Nordlead 1
some nice commercial vst
rgc-audio Z3ta+
Novation V-station
LennarDigital Sylenth
Linplug Albino 3
reFX - Nexus
Disco DSP Discovery

Freeflow, your answer is correct, thanks for getting to this post before me
experiment with those ones, and you will find your sound.
It is all exposed on the board, just tweak the right parameters.
You might come with something you like even more and surprise your self and others too.
Make sure you adjust the "legato" and have some gliding on the notes.
