dont use that tricks like moving the notes, you just have to make it cleany, not with tricks that are not allowed in the "music rules"...i know that tracnce its a inovation kind of music, but not so to overpass the rules right? you do that maybie because your kick is not weel, you can kicks in es-1, but its difficult in pc because he sync, its better in mac....but if im not forgget, trillogy automatticly cuts the kick in the zero point, so, all will sound ok....i dont know you "see" the wave form of the bassline when you do the bassline, but if not try to do that, you can get you bassline perfectly.....im working on abou 5 years on basslines with every program and every vst, so use cool edit pro to see the wave, and control the 2 decays, youll see that the wave will finish perfectly in zero point before the kick

I agree with you exodus, but, the trick was directed for someone who asked me in messages... he's using logic, now i can imagine that what he wanna tell me it's about the velocity pattern... you can play with that creating the sensation of differents bass rythm...
I particulary don't like do to this trick, it's seems ilogical.
No, trilogy don't cut the wave, it's the why i like to use sidechain well tuned, because it's not only the end wave of the bass before kick, but the kick tail before the first bass note... so i don't like some distorted error, and i tc chain it srsr... (even always i must click on key input... (blah)
I like tau pro too.. it give a more "alien project - silent running" feeling... and also create a nocturn dark
and for more darkened (CLICKCLIK SUB bass kind), i like to use cronox too with some cool presets that i've, or even some pure synthesis on cronox, and pentagon-i, also is good...
well i don't like so much loose power, putting the sustain down... i like to regulate the cut off near closed (with lp2 for example) to give-me the boom, sustained (in the pitch that i wanna based on the cutoff, also resonance very similar to the cut off - a little bit - too) after the decay, but a decay caused by the envelope filter AMOUNT near middle, sustain full, on amp adsr, and attack, decay, release = 0, on the filter envelope, near one half decay, near 0 sustain, release at middle position between decay and sustain, so i decrease the sens knob, until i got a good sound (remember don't make the notes on the midi track, very long, but a little short than the full note), use the ascending sine curve, enable solo mode, regule the glide if u wanna, turn off the lfo4 -> little pan by default...
experiment that with the sh-101 squaw waveform, cool bass rsr , but remembering squarezed bass, isn't good for bBb (<- B octave up), but good for bbb (same octave, and variations of note patterns)
i like sonalksis to sculpt the bass, because its the unique parametric comrpessor that i know.
while i'm searching for the eq of my dreams for use on the track, i'm using req6 from waves, that's doing the job (but i'm researching), then put it to the tc compress, (for make the sidechain with the kick)

if you're gonna tout your bassline as the "long awaited solution", at least make it decent.

I liked the darker version at the beginning better, but the mellower one was good too. I'm sure your advice will help newbies.

rythm elements can be rushed or delayed to some effect in any kind of music. it's not agaisnt the rules, is more like trying do replicate what a real musician would do, not a computer, when playing...

undertow, i quoted you because i'm lazy to search for the post, i know you know this           roll a joint or STFU :)

in my not so humble opinion (i'm a genius, i can't be humble...lolol) there's no magic solution for bass/kick whatever

there are formulas, but changing a varible changes the whole equation...

shit... that's my 909 post, i'll cherish it ahhhhh           roll a joint or STFU :)
