Dont be so narrow, because it is true, Talamasca had better recipe's back in days, like this example (2004, again somehow ).

in this case its wrong consider it a remix, because it isnt... its simply an adaption of a song to psytrance.
That would piss some people off though...I don't think you can rip someone's composition like that and slap your name on it. I guess you can count on it not getting big enough, or generally not reaching the original composer's ears. But that is not very shanti, innit.
Then again, if its not released, I don't think it will be a problem.
thats the point, if its only for personal use or for performing sometimes...
your not commiting any crime, about releasing it, its another story...
for releasing something that was originaly written by other people, you need allways authorization, it doesnt matter if its cover or not, by the simple fact that you will be allways using their name associated...
but so far i have seen many cases of rip-off situations...
i remember of seing Juan Verdera really pissed about a "suposed" remix by Ananda Shake guys on youtube... (but that was other story)
