Just listen to a really good track you like and that has samples. Don't you want to know what it says? Why the artist placed it there? There are many examples n which the samples match the idea of the track.

For example, in the track U-Recken - Heartquest the sample is: "the land of the blind", suggesting that the heart does not see, but only feels (or something).

Many times the samples transmit an idea directly from the artist to you, usually an idea that is related to the track's vibe and purpose.

I love samples, and I always will. Everyday I listen to my girlfriend saying: "stop repeating this". Last time was "But just before they crash... They become aware of their own structure..." from BLT & Danni Makov - Patterns of (rmx). Taken from the movie PI. Another one from the same track that I always repeat: "If you graph the numbers of any system, patterns emerge..."

There's no life without samples.
Respect!           .
...Be gentle with the earth...
...Dance like nobody's watching...
.
...I don't mind not going to Heaven, as long as they've got Coffee in Hell...

Full_on, you know I agree

I also find that identifying samples also leads to discovering interesting films that you may have never seen before...

I often find myself quoting The Matrix and Waking Life to many bemused people!
"I acknowledge the privilege of being alive in a human body at this moment, endowed with senses, memories, emotions, thoughts, and the space of mind in its wisdom aspect."
