Ok sometimes I use headphones, I like to use Redline Monitor vst at night. My question is...if im using an ultramax plugin [waves]to apply final gain/volume which should come first in the monitoring chain?? Should I monitor the volume gain change [placed after ultramax], or should i monitor the volume change being applied with Redline placed before ultramaximizer, and ultramax being the very last plugin in the chain...lol i don't know. |

the redline monitor should be the last plugin on the master channel.
but you should know that any gain or eq changes that you make while you using headphones are probably wrong.

yea. red line monitor always goes at the last of the chain. but I dont know about puting a limiter or a maximiser at your master channel u might be over compressing your mix maybe.... |

ok, i was just wondering cuz redline always seems to cause clipping after the ultramaximizer...[making it totally useless to hear distortion changes] so how would that work...lol...its probably all bullshit anyway, i know lol. |

...btw my guess is that im undercompressing it [if the clipping occurs]...it seems...like compared to my adam a7's, but who knows. adam a7 aren't the worlds greatest speaker either so...btw i like headphones, they are so clear, unlike speakers its to bad they are completely useless for mixing anything, i thought maybe they would be even good for volume adjustment on a final track that has already been mastered [just wanted to add a bit more gain to -0.1 db] lol. guess not. |

Any changes made while using monitors may be probably wrong as well

Why not? you have the perfect studio? No room accoustics that are troubling your sound? No speaker charactaristics that colour the sound? |
