dear detox,
i may not know you, but from what i've read in this forum since you organise a party just to take a percentage of the total income then you do it as a profession. think of how nice it would be if you (not personally) provided people at parties you make with decent partying conditions such as free water, somewhat clean toilets etc. if you did the things above, then i wouldn't mind paying you 35euro. i don't mean to insult you, it's just that in this scene you (not personally) built all these years i play the part of the sucker that get what he pays for... sorry again |

Dear theoblcrew have you ever thought that this scene could be even worst than it is now and that some people are trying at least to keep things like they are now and improve them in the near future?
I am not reffering to me,i am talking in general.About me the people can judge if i have taken or offered something to this scene.
Like you say you dont know me so you dont know if i organise parties just to take a percentage or to offer something to this scene and make people happier.
Well since you are interested i am in the happy position to inform you that i both organise parties for making a profit out of them and to have a good time along with the people that attend them.The best party for me is the one where the people have a good time and where at the same time the promoter has made a profit out of it.I am not willing to spend my money,energy,time and to take serious risks for my personal life in order for others to have a great time and me to get nothing out of it.
The promoter gets a profit for spending his money,time and energy in order to organise a party and the people pay a ticket price in order to have fun and dance at the party.
A friend of mine once said to me that the only things that work for free in this world are idiots and clocks,well i am neither a clock or an idiot and organising a party is a very very hard work indeed.

hey man if you dont like going to parties then dont go!!!if you think you can do better try do it yourself and prove everyone else wrong!!!you sound quite greek-talking ...big mouth complainings to me!!!everyone knows whats wrong and noone does something about it ....and dont tell me that you are here to wake us up....we're not idiots you know so stop underestimating us....take - air everyone!!!!

dizz-e if people dont debate and discuss the situation then nothing will happen. Your might ok with the situation in Greece but it seem like the majority want changes 
btw it will be good for Greece to get a new Gouvernment... Away with the old socialist "dictatorship" and in with a modern thinking. I believe it will change a lot for the Greeks in the years to come

Elysium the majority wants changes but the bad thing is that they want changes in things that they dont know what is going on with them.
For example i had a private discussion with theoblcrew who asked me why isnt free water supplied in parties.I explained to him something that the majority of people in Greece ignores.In Athens in all the major clubs the bar income all goes to the owner of the place and not to the party promoter.So as you can understand party promoters are not responsible for the high drinks prices and the lack of free water supply
In fact they dont get nothing out of the bar and the only thing that they can do is to reach an aggreement with the club owner for as lower drinks and water prices as possible,nothing more and nothing less than that.
About the government thing first of all i think that you are not the right one to judge the old government of the Socialist Party as a 'dictatorship' since you havent spend much time in Greece,its like me having an opinion about the Danish government just because i have spent some vacations in Copenhagen
Anyway lets stop the political issue here,the government just changed and we will see what will happen in the future

Detox my friend. first of all you dont have to live in a country to understand the political climate in that country. 2nd I did live in Greece a whole year
And I did not say that they were Dictators. I used the word as a illustration that they had ruled the country for decades without much competition. And sorry but I do think it's very very good for Greece to get a more modern thinking Gouvernment.
And I was not speaking in political terms. I was merely thinking about that a new gouvenment might (hopefully) be more openminded to the trance scene |

Well well, it seems that some things aint gonna ghange. Sometimes there is nothing else you can do but like the author of this topic said.............Ican only laugh..........!
First of all, I will agree that all the money from the bars goes to the club owner, nothing new- everyone knows! Then we come to the ticket price: there its up to the organiser and the club owner to make an agreement. For example either the organiser gets all the money and then of course the club owner says:Iam not giving any drinks for free ( and that is why club owners dont give a fuck about the scene but only for the money) unlessssssssss an organiser who CARES about the scene tells him: all right, I will give you ONE Euro (or more) from the ticket price and give them a fucking bottle of water for free! Thats only an example of what you can do as an organiser. Lets say that the club owner says NOOOOOOO Iam not giving them a bottle of water even if you give me the whole ticket (I can only laugh). Anyway, lets say he wont accept, wouldnt be better instead of having 3 or 4 international dj's, to have 2 and offer (to those people who at the end of the day its them that we need as organisers) a good party from all aspects!And if my brothers, if everyone would think that in this world only clocks and idiots are working for free (by the way in this case for "free" is not the right word, for money return its better) then we must all consider that Jesus sucrifised without any cause and he is a clock himself!

I'll have to agree with Linos on that for sure... And correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it true that in contradiction to other countries in Greece international dj's get greater remuneration?
If this is true, then try to change it and make things better for everyone...

but if someone read this post who is totally out of the scene, he would think that Detox is a blood-sucking beast who wants to steal our money and give us shit instead.....

BUT my friend tralala, at the begining of this thread nobody has attempt to "attack" detox. Iam an organiser my self and I recognise this problem with the parties trying to give few ideas of how things could do better. As an organiser I could start defending "our" selfs as organisers for our behaviour, but how would that reflect to those people who are looking for some things to happen and are disgussed with the "greek" behaviour of fighting each other. The first thing my friend detox should say (and try to do) as an organiser is to accept that organisers of THIS SCENE (WHICH SUPPOSE TO BE FULLFILLED BY OTHER VALUES) should be unite, and then listen ,at least, to all this complaints from the people who are giving us their money and do something instead of defending all the time the "reasons" why things are like this! No offence detox I have nothing with you, you are not a "competitor" for me anyway. And sorry for mentioning this word "competitor", it shouldnt exist in our scene, but its a word that obviously exist for some. If only WE all understand that this is not a competition, then we all might give some ideas about how things would be better.
So once more I would say unite and detox or any detox I would be glad to share with you few ideas or even help you if I can, cause I would expect the same from you!

happen at Thessaloniki
years and years
i just want to tell that
the progressive scene is pretty good here
p.s.:I also want to listen to quality full on such sub6 or sirius insence or wrenked machines or jirah ororororor...
but the organizers mostly care about the money and they prefer a name like g.m.s.
or skazi who are popular
so I prefer to go at a quality psy-progress
