Do you know when you're on a party and sometimes you close your eyes and only thing that exist for you is the music that pass through your ears? Most of time my mind is so far that i can't remember what track is playing or i don't recognize it, so, do you know some tracks that can cause this effect?
For me it's like the track wait and see (tristan vs psyberant).....

well it depends in the state u are in...but i´m sure that some producers make hipnotic music in purpose!

well, that's the point of "trance" music!

i only dance with closed eyes, but sometimes i have them shut wide...
the feeling u described is the best feeling concerning musical consciousness. dont even need drugs for that. its exactly how people at least tried to describe the magic of psychedelic trance music....a monotonic bom bom bom throughout the whole night with twisted snirkles on top sends u into a loop where u forget about time and location. and its darn hard to break out of this loop (at least for me).
the most impressive feeling i ever felt (besides the feeling u know of  ) was when i was in an open air party and a dj played super hypnotic psychedelic trance. i had that chilling all over my body (there's a thread bout it here too) and the most wicked was that i actually felt the music and also could see it (and no i was not on psychedelic substances).
i could "pick the notes out of the sky" as my friend puts it very nicely...

I think OTTs Sommersettler would take u to hypnotic state anytime , irrespective of your state of mind.
Infected Mushrooms - The Messenger has been my fav track since the release. I just put it on sometimes when i seriously want to listen to some quality stuff to take me inside for a ride.
Lately Penta's every machine has been pulling me into machines. Solid effect !

For me hypnotic sound is what we can heard in all the NonStop album from Cosma, especialy People On Hold... |

man, i would have agreed re: "The Messenger", but it has that CHEEZY saxophone bit towards the end... ugh. |

A good progressive DJ or two have started their sets with some simple bouncy groove and no bass. So I just dance a bit, get into the rhythm. When 5 minutes later you see the entire dancefloor moving to that exact same beat with perfect precision, you know he's done it right. When half an hour later, he keeps bouncing between a two tracks with totally different beats, and everyone is STILL perfectly and effortlessly in his rhythm, that's starting to be hypnotic. When the set ends, and you feel like it's been only an hour and it's been three, and as it dawns upon you that the set is over and the only thought that passes through your head is "what the hell just happened here?!", then you know it was a hypnotic set.
Dominic Lamb when he's groovin' heavily does this perfectly.

yep kaz, thats about right. . .
but i also think during a full on set when the bass growls under my ribs and my feet start bouncing i close my eyes and allow the waves of sound to pulsate through my veins. then a new layer is added and my arms start flailing then another and im jumping and then another and you start screaming. till you open your eyes when the music stops and everyone is going home. . . another type of hypnosis(thats dark soho for me)
