and what might this be? It's basically a new term to describe those films with seemingly disconnected plot-lines that all converge towards the end.
one of more popular (and award winning) scripting formulas for this day... wiki lists the lot as:
* Nashville (1975)
* After Hours (1985)
* The Player (1992)
* Short Cuts (1993)
* Pulp Fiction (1994)
* The Opposite of Sex (1998)
* Magnolia (1999)
* Timecode (2000)
* Amores Perros (2000)
* Traffic (2000)
* Lantana (2001)
* City of God (2002)
* 21 Grams (2003)
* Cape of Good Hope (2004)
* Crash (2004)
* Happy Endings (2005)
* Syriana (2005)
* Nine Lives (2005)
* Look Both Ways (2006)
* Babel (2006)
* Rendition (2007)
* The Edge of Heaven (2007)
* The Air I Breathe (2008)
* Gomorrah (2008)
have seen... Pulp Fiction, Magnolia, Amores Perros, City of God, Traffic, 21 Grams, Crash, Syriana and Babel... and would recommend all of them as must see films.
Slumdog Millionaire would fall into the category I guess... except that they did it backwards.
Don't know much about the rest... any recommendations ?

Well, I would recommend Robert Altman's Short Cuts, Nashville and The Player, especially Short Cuts, a must see, true classic... And then continuing from the ones that you've mentioned I would also say: ... The Edge of Heaven ... a brilliant brilliant film, also a must...
  Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead... |

"Short Cut"s and "The Player" are Altman's best pictures imo.
Very good stuff.
