...haven t any experience, but amd doesn t offer it. i guess it s just a supplement cause amd has developed it s 64 bit faster than intel...
n afaik the software must support it too, otherwise u can t take full benefit of it ( like with the 64 bit too ).

bomski           experiment !
make it your motto day and night.
experiment,
and it will lead you to the light.
the apple on the top of the tree
is never too high to achieve,
so take an example from eve...
experiment !

Some software supports hyperthreading [cubase sx ] allowing parallel cpu processing. But whether it will enhance your preformance depends on how you write music. if you load your cpu then HT might work to your advantage.           2=1

I use a dual xeon, I have No heating problems, and great performance, how is AMD better than dual threding?

The Intel board these days have the upper hand on the front side bus; but computation is not your only setback. If you have the $$ for the dual proc xeon, by all means go for it; they are a bit faster than the AMD counterparts but if you look to match price for performance, you'll find that the AMD solution to dual proc is much more level-headed. Furthermore AMD has worked harder on their dual processor design; better cache coherency between the two chips and less traffic going to the northbridge for data that is resident in the cache of the other chips. The only thing I am disappointed with in my dual-proc is the hard disk still being slooo... the Spectrasonics rack still takes a long time to change patches; I'll be fixing this with a syncraid 5000 from netcell.com soon; I will keep you all posted on the results.
Cheers!

I'm working on one right now, really boosted my workstation performance. No big surprise, cause I'm working with Linux over here.           Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
