This one has been out for a while so I thought I would give it a review. I have liked a lot of his other stuff on comps like Source, Trojan, Cipher and Urantia Rising.

1. Kinetic- We start right off with the title track and for me, a title track should be a storming track. We have some whooshes in the beginning and then an in your face bassline with some distorted percussion. A commanding lead sets the pace with some ssorted psychedelia. At the 3:40 mark a nice Middle Eastern female vocal makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Then a nice acid line dances nimbly in, and I get a taste of what's in store. 7/10

2.Retroactive- More distorted percussion and a staccato bassline. I like the sliced pad in the background, hiding under the angry metallic lead. A nice synthline evolves and then just as quickly disappears. Then the bassline switches up and that lead returns. This track has sounds that hit you from all sides and I do love surprises. At the 5:30 mark it all comes together for a moving good time. 7.5/10

3. Hi Fidelity Remix- I haven't heard the original I cannot compare the two. Some "Dark psy" starts us off and I have to make sure I do not have a Parvati release in the deck. I like how the sounds rumble and creep in and out. Very fluid and alien. I am at the 2:30 minute mark and the track is toying with me, not quite showing itself yet. Ahhh...at the 3:45 mark the lead twirls in and out of your neurons accompanied with dark sounds. Let that lead creep back in and thicken out and we are...running! Nice key shift on the bassline as well. Sweet track! 8.5/10

4. Sonica- "It makes you wonder, doesn't it?" A gentle pad brings us in with a soft bassline. Quickly, a lead predominates and it is beginning to assemble. The lead changes and twists, and a computerized voice comes in briefly. I was hoping this track would grow and lead somewhere but sadly it did not. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. 6/10

5. User Friendly- This is a short track that clocks in at under 6 minutes so it has to get going quickly. Plucky bassline with some psy and leads and then an evolving , twisting lead that climaxes. Robotic speech and now a portamento type effect. Then an "underwater" lead is followed by some distorted sounds and Bam, it is back in yo face! Simple, but I like it. It doesn't seem to follow the cookie cutter pattern of full-on. 7/10

6. Network Solutions- Spacey pad and a stabbing metallic sound brings in the bassline. Percussion joins the party and then all but the lead drop out. The hi-hats usher in the lead and bassline again and we are on the move. Again, I like that the sounds are varied and come out of nowhere to class up a rather simple melody. The shooting laser gun stab arrives. I like the breakdown and the sounds really create the atmosphere. 7.5/10

7. Dude, Where's My Dignity?- "The last thing I remember is drinking some green glowy shit out of a test tube and dancing around like a bastard!" It starts off dark. Pleasantly dark. Puchy bassline and a fat kick. The lead staggers in and dominates. Like a stutter step. I like the extended breakdown, setting us up. Another crescendo, but wait...we are not there yet. Hey this lead will show us the way! And it does! Very good track! 8/10

8. Electric Feed- Did I just hear Trent Reznor? Well, let's see, Shift did a good job with "Closer" so maybe. Maybe. His voice is distorted and some effects applied to it. Kinda cool. This is using NIN "The Hand That Feeds" if you haven't figured it out. Then the voice is vocoded and the song's melody is brought in. At the 5:13 mark we have guitars, vocals and driving bass. I like it. Maybe his songs just lend themselves to be Psytranced? Who knows, but it is a good one. 7.5/10

9. Condition Black remix- Remix of the track From the Source comp, this one starts off with a moderate bassline and whooshes. Kind of funky. Spacey leads creep in and then the shooting laser again. But not overpowering, making you say "I already heard this sound!" The bass changes and drives the show. I like the leads and the detuned lead that popps in and out. And then it just stops. Don't worry it is back and it is angry. There is a distorted and clipped vocal but I don't know what it is saying. At the 5:45 mark there is a searing lead with cool crunch of guitars that punishes your ears and then the adrenaline is upped with the crazy leads!! I think this might be the deepest track. Very good stuff. My favorite. 9/10

10. Shade- This is a post-apocalyptic ambient chill track. Ominous and thought provoking for me. I would've added more reverb and delay, but what the hell do I know? This sounds like something that would be on a NIN album. Nice way to close it out.
7/10

Conclusion: This is a full-on album but with some great production. No cookie cutter formulas here. Just when you think you know where it is going to go...surprise. There was a nice amount of psy in it to set the mood and it still brought the power. I look forward to more tracks from Hydraglyph and I can recommend this release.

hydraglyph is a great project. i really like the diversity in their music. from making really hard hitting music like corrupt audio off va - twilight children to their easier collaberations with corona on the corona album. even their solo projects tundra and link do not dissappoint. was expecting a fair bit from this album and im happy to say it doesnt dissapoint. really enjoyed electric feed as well as both the rmx's on the album. in my opinion the title track kinetic really kicks up some dust . great album overall. 2nd one in a row for sanskara records, following the corona album which was imo incredible. my luck to hydraglyph and sanskara for future releases...           www.soundcloud.com/ishikawa

This is a killer album. This project has great great potential. Bring it on, I wanna hear more and more from these guys.

I think their music is dark but really intelligent and has flow and story.

My favourite trax are 1, 3, 5, 7.

Keep making inspiring music lads!!!           The music was like new black polished chrome
that came over the sky like liquid night.

complete stomper of an album!!! really loved their previous tracks on timecode compilations as well as Urantia Rising. A lot of energy in these tracks with a sunrise feel to them plus plenty of groove. Good Work!

I LOVE this album... so melodic, so driving, so... glitchy. Definetly interesting at all times. The nin remix is awesome, and the rest of the album is all good as well; the high fidelity track also stands out to me. I think I've listened to this album 10 times in the last three days.
