Helicon Sound System is a contemporary electronic dance music record label situated in Athens. Our goal is to spot and release innovative ideas in music towards the global dancefloor. The power of the label is its people.
The roots of the label come from the music community Paranormal Research, founded near the end of 2003 by Costas Arabanos (DJ CRX), Hercules Saltos (Narcosis) and Giannis Karanikas (Nature of Mind) in order to promote the new psychedelic sounds coming mostly from Russia, Scandinavia and South Africa. Shortly after, Giannis Revis (Cymazz) joined in. Paranormal Research organized quite a few parties during 2004-2006 with artists and DJs including Xenomorph, N3XU5, Sofiax, Moonsun, Psytour, Cryonic Angel, Double Trouble etc.
In 2005, Paranormal Research joined forces with KGB, an independent group of artists and together they formed Athens Tribal Unity, a group responsible for the biggest Dark Psychedelic Trance parties that ever took place in Athens.
In 2006, CRX founded the “Helicon Sound System” label. The Purpose of Helicon Sound System is to become a platform for the promotion of Greek music technology and to provide to the dancefloor with the most innovative psychedelic tracks from its international network of artists.
The first CD “Helicon in trance: The underground sounds of Athens” and as the title implies , the cd had the most popular tracks that were heard at the ATU parties.

In December 2007, “Helicon in trance” was re-released by Beatspace.
Soon, HSS became known internationally and established a crew of DJs and Artists from 11 countries.
The HSS network was at last an indisputable fact and was celebrated with the release of its second collection titled “Entropia 07.07.07”,which is being distributed for free via the Internet.

The label’s immediate future plans include the simultaneous releases of “The forbidden path” from artists such as Silent Horror, Ghreg on Earth, Narcosis etc. and the debut album of the Greek artist NOM, titled “The nature of the mind” in association with Beatspace and Wirikuta and the constant presence of the label on international and national radio stations.
