So I'm looking around for a performance laptop and I've come across the HP Compaq 615.

HP 615 Dual Core Notebook- New !!

Amd Turion64 X2 Ql-64 Dual-Core 2.1Ghz
AMD 780MN Chipset,
3GB DDR2-800 Mhz Ram ( 1x 2GB 1x1GB ),
Ati Mobility Radeon HD3200 Vga
Upto 512Mb Hyper-memorya,
15.6" LCD 16:9 ( 1366X768 Wxga )
160GB Sata Hard Drive ,
Dvd+/-ReWriter ,
Built-In Card Reader
Integrated 2 MP webcam,
Bluetooth
Wireless Lan
10/100 Lan
56K Modem
Express Card Slot,
6 Cell Battery

From a dealer I've had previous experience with who'll will downgrade to XP. (I don't want Vista) I like the 3GB of RAM and the dual core processor.

I'm also looking at this Samsung: http://www.take2.co.za/electronics-samsung-r509-15-4-inch-laptop-pentium-dual-core-t3400-2-16-ghz-4785233.html which is a teensy bit more expensive. Less RAM, bigger hard drive, but I'm not sure if I can get it downgraded. I'd like to be able to run it out of the box without any OS issues I have to deal with.

What do you think? I'll be using it to run Live, Cubase, Traktor DJ and maybe watch some videos here and there.

Edit: I'm also interested in knowing if there're any issues regarding DPC latency with both laptops.
