What settings? how to setup the mod matrix? what is going on there?
Can you explain a little more?
I believe it is a saw osc, with lfo bp filter but can't get it that killarg. |

i think there is some stereo arrangement with pitch shift also to give wideness
try milion times you will do it

why post if you won't help?
I just want to get it right... like when a tennis player practice a serving shot, you have seen it a lot but everyone has to learn to do it right in the first place.
And yeah, i'm a little bit obsessed with nutek style right now... so what, just help me com'n. |

Yep...good way to think.
Synth that has simple 1 op FM. osc1 -> osc2 or vice versa.
Both oscilators as saw waves. Set the modulator osc 2 octaves lower and then move the fm amt up until you get the grit to the sound going.
I think there also might be some pitch modulation going on, so mess around with a lowish setting amt on a slow sine lfo on the main oscilator or both oscilators. |

Thanks bro, i'm getting closer but can't get it exactly like that... there is something in the way it glides, i've been trying to fix the portamento settings and the pitch mod and feels like it but not the same. |

try to use lfo and conect to the pitch...
Lfo is like a clock that controlls the pitch, u just need to configure how fast(Speed) and deep(attack) do you want the sound glide

it is just that i often crack the sounds i want to create pretty easy and this one has given me a lot of trouble.
Don't worry i do have lots of creativity it is just a challenge for the moment.
Why is that normally a "how to create this sound" thread gets the right answers and this one is causing lots of issues; everybody (except sum) are coming with answers like "we have heard this before", " don get stuck", "its over used"?
Hehe... btw i do know what an lfo is, anyhow linking pitch to LFO with sine or triangle mod is not giving that result. |

I guess a lot of it depends on how you're doing it. Definitely sounds like a pitchmodulated fm synth to me, but I've found that different synths, using essentially the same schematic technique, will often have subtly different results.
What synths are you using?
Maybe the pitch isn't just modulated by an LFO, but by an envelope as well?
I've been grappling with this lately myself, so you're not alone. |

And yeah 'this kind of lead is overdone' comments or 'this sound sucks' are not helpful, and pretty much a derail. |

Thanks bro... best results so far have been in Toxic, NI Pro 53 and Albino 3 but still far from the sample i posted.
I have been playing with FM programs with fast lfo BP / HP filter mods and portamento / legato settings , sometimes i use pitch lfo to test but this usually detunes the sound much more than what i'd like.
Other nice thingies are unison and analog functions... mostly i use sawtooths for this.
Any advice is still welcomed. I cannot believe there is not a single person giving the 'right' way to do this since this a so overused sound -_-
