Yes, music was good, Void was excellent! But the people and the vibe for the most part sucked, VQ parties always bring a bunch of idiots, who have no love for the music and show no respect to the other dancers.
And I think it is getting worse- I saw about 1 trancer for every 20 shibuya 'gals' toting loius vutton handbags and talking on the cell phones on the dancefloor. Many of them seem very irritated at something or another. Not only are they not having fun, but they kill my buzz! (even tho I try damn hard to ignore them, it is getting harder and harder to do so.)
Oh, and the afterparty cost another 3500 yen or so to get into. They said they would try to make it cheaper, but as expected nothing was done. Surrise surprise.
I liked the music, but the environment is becoming increasingly negative. It was a rock concert, not a trance party. DEFINITELY NOT psychedelic.
I am sorry to be so negative... but this is what I saw. VQ, cant you guys at least pretend that you are trying to throw a good party???

well,i been going to japan on and off for more then 2.5 years,as we know the scene become more and more agressive,and different from the past,when it just started.why blame vision quest?
they dont choose the pepole that come to the partys,and yes,most partys in japan are 50$,so what can we do,the best is not to talk,just dont go,i respect TA-and vision quest crew for making amesing partys in the pastt,ok,i also dont like the big partys so much any more,but again,what can they do,the mafia kids are at most of the partys beleive me,i know,any way i think that its beter not to talk about this over and over again,like fraind said before,the only thing that i dont like,is that i cant smoke a chillum at an outdoor partys,ha(some do) if you with frainds who care about this pepole,just enjoy.and dont think about other things.and ther are partys like goa gill two weeks ago that was great,loved your story ,was cool.

like u say in japan you most have for sure the connections for kinda of that party in your hands!
if not...sorry but bilieve me you get wrong people
around you!because i been in partys like this in japan!and me i start doing psyche dj here in this
country jAPAN 7 years a go...and if you prefer
smoke chillum or joints around the floor...better
you go to brasil...from long time a go...there we
smoking @ clubs...and @ dj buss or @ floor!
i just not introduce india because i never been there!or maybe u can go england...i dont know
about now...but when i was there 4 years a go the
partys every smoking @ floor!now if you like japan
just be cool...and respect the rules...then u no have any problem!and also enjoy any partys!if people say i not go because the mafia,or figths or police or any thing else...i agree you...not go!
but people still saying bullshit about...but still coming to it...why?to saying bullshit after?and the cost here are expenssive because to made the partys also are expenssive!what fuck?yes...can you imagine pay 30000 dollars to do a party indoor? |

mad factory hi,its not about chilium or drugs,beleive me i know the scene in japan very well,and the rulles,its my problem if i do it or not,i like this foroum but evry 2 topic someone always got something to say about how the partys are back in tokyo,that the yak kids are ugly and bad vibe,believe its a free world and you can say what you want ,but we know allready ,about the changes in the scene.im not traying to protect or tell ppl wht to do in partys,we need to enjoy and thank the ORG,for what we get,and again,if you dont like it dont go.
what spiff link said its is own opinion,i respect that,but,he still goes to vision partys and give others the feeling not to go,sorry spifflink if i ofended you in a way.(sorry for the bad english also).and for vision crew,i dont care and dont know them(persenoly)they are doing good partys in japan,and will keep on,i think they are great(in what they doing).i would say"the music was great,dident like the pepole,but f***k them" hahaah
i live in london now,and the scene is great,but i still think that the scene and the partys in japan are great,on the top pf my list even if its changed,even ,that you cant do the same things that you do in london.
i say it again,dosent matter who is out there in the clubs,you can enjoy it more if you dont look at the shit around,do you thing,close your ayes and dance.we all become partys doctors ,goa times is long gone,some pepole always look for the bad things around,but they are not there if you just want them not to be.

What can be better in a party when you are pumpin in the dance floor, enjoing the sound, than you look around, and see that vision...
Imagine: everybody just going crazy in the dance floor, everybody smiling to each other, dancing with each other, so happy, so... positive! Than you FEEL that vibe, that make s you high, makes you full of energy to dance more and more... This is all our culture is about!!! How the psychedelic music can make us high and HOW WE SHARE THIS FEELLING. It's amazing! It's everything!
So, all the criticals to Vision Quest is about why push flyers into each gals shop in shibuya?
This is not the right way to show our culture to the ppl.
Synchronisity is doing a good job in many points. Showing for free this culture to anybody interested, discovering new talented Djs, and now invading a Kawasaki's (citta) shopping mall with Psy X progressive open air parties by 10 bucks. This is a nice way to give a chance to ppl know about trance. So, If they liked, they will get in!

kenji you are right,about the ORG geting to many pepole in to a club its bad,to expensive well ,i agree that it is,but line up wiht 3-5 top live acts,its not so bad,we know its expensive,but we still go,i was just making a point that if pepole dont want to pay to see live acts,and to get good sound ,is just not to go,insted of beeing trance doctors.and always looking for the bad things in the partys,to pay 5,000y for a party and not enjoying it is waist of money and energy.i live the scene , and lets face it,no one likes to pay a loot of money to go to a 8h party,about the coulture well,for some its a way of life,for some its not.i think also that the partys in tokyo changed,its different,more yamamba(kind of fashion)girls are going,mafia kids,but who are they to think about,why should they destroy my party,my vibe.we cant go back to the days when most of the ppl where really in to the music,we need to enjoy it while we still have it.

I went to VQ concert because I got in for free, and I want music! Some one ask how was the party, so I tell the truth. I ''dont go to party to complain afterward'' like somebody said.
If I can go for free, I will go. Why not? If I have to pay 5000yen, fuck that!
Lots of people who dont understand the trance culture come anyway for whatever reason, and I dont care for it.
I tell what I see- sorry if you dont like it.
If you still want to go, then go. I could care less. I will go too if tis free, and even though I will think its kind of a joke, I will have fun anyway. I have fun doing whatever! Hoffman, you did not offend me, dont worry. Small things do not bother me.
But of course if I go to party I enjoy it, and try to ignore the idiots. But like many people say if someone trying to fight you it is hard to ignore that.....
VQ and other big events are not parties- they are concerts. Do not confuse the 2!
I will go to parties ( I be happy to pay) and I will go to concerts (if not paying!) BOth are fun, as long as you dont go to the concerts expecting a trance party. I am just out to clarify that for the people who are saddened from going to concert expecting a trance party. It happened to me at first, but now it does not bother me.
No longer giving a shit anymore...

well everything you do is only by your choice.
It is nice to make good, make-sense opinion to evolve the scene but so many ppl are giving bad energy towards party/concert/event, I believe that is the matter bringing down the whole japanese scene.
