Hi you all!!!
I read before that using valves pre-amps in some point in your production would help a lot...Yes i konw its not definetely a rule...(if there is any)!
But in my case every day i think in this issue, why ? - i work in a audiophille hi-fi companny...
Being the valve pre-amps one of flag products there, i wonder how can i introduce a pre-amp in my (very) simple set up and in what phase of my "production" should i use it?...
I use an AMD 64 with a RME 9632 runing logic where my monitors are plugged in a simple Behringer UB1204 pro mixer...
How would be the all process in routing the cables?
And to try to be more generalist, where other people could take some information as well:- when should i use the pre-amp??? Every time that a make a "bounce" ?Only in some channels? What type of instruments? Only in the all mix?? After or before mastering?
The main thing that i want is to give warm factor to my projects...
Any help, please...!

Yeah, some ppl do use a valve amp to get a warmer sound (adds even harmonics)
You need to connect your output to the amp input, and then connect to amp speakers outputs to a DI (with an attenuation pad of 20-40dB) and then connect the DI outputs to your inputs.
Never ever connnect the speakers outputs directly to an input! And make sure the volume of the amp is set to 0 when doing the connections.
Have fun

If it is really a pre-amp, you don't need the DI box. If it is an amp, FluoSamsara is correct.
I wouldn't pass the signal through the Berhinger as that would kind of defeat the purpouse of using a high-end valve pre-amp.
And yes, use it over the whole mix. Do it as part of the mastering process. Right before the final limiting.
See how this sounds and then experiment.

a preamp is made to boost low level signals like mics guitars etc. If its not not a very "highend" preamp, it will likely add more noise and unwanted transients than nice harmonic warmth imo

In this case the pre-amp is high end, they go from 10 grand to 30 grand (£) depending of the out-put transformers, components and if it is silver wired...
