Ok ... for now ihave to ask you dear peoples friends of mine one question...i'am producing psychedelic music for 7 years...played on some partys...but..now ihad no place to play...iwant to start from anything...but ...in our days in israel we have million dj's and too hard to enter in some place to start to play, have you any ideas how can I began ...my normal introducing ??? I'am creating progressive psychdelic trance music... i'am really dissapointed  |

well now days its a very diff scene m8.... esp ur from israel where dere r maximum psychedelic artists/djs... imm sure every corner ones producing psychedelic dere... but as far as i see the scene overall is.... if u wanna play u need to make contacts with the organisers.... mayb ur frend is an organiser... try to build a good rapport with him.... thts how it usually works now days.... or otherwise release music be an artist.... coz when ur an artist it automatically works for u to play at parties.... coz uve created a name for urself by releasin music ..... so the ppl noe who u r by the end of the day....
and if ur not a producer.... and dont release ne music and wanna dj den its all abt contacts.... |

Make contact with labels, party organisers, other dj's or artists and send some demo's out.
Make sure you keep positive even after many letdowns. Believe in yourself and your music!
And make a myspace/ phasebook  / soundcloud so people can actually find you online. |

if your getting into production and you get a serious offer from a label to buy some of your music, please dont send any label owner your files without getting paid first - here about too many deals going bad nowadays ..
other than that i think everyone else has come up with a lot of cool suggestions 
if you cant get in touch with professional labels, perhaps you should consider releasing a free ep on ektoplazm or something - they are always promoting new acts and its a great way to get your music out there

Yeah, certainly not a career. The best bet is to GO TO PARTIES. talk to people. Show that your putting something into the scene and then eventually it will come back to you.

you're not going to make a living playing other peoples music. and rightfully so.
go make your own tracks, make art, make speakers, make art, whatever the scene around you needs, then rent it out at a reasonable price.
and get a job, ya damn hippie. |

international and i guess you just need to write to the party you wanna play at. 50% chance someone will call back or reply.
doin own partys sure could be good, but i found that it´s not good doin this for promoting yourself. you´re going into the work of a promoter and those have to promote, not to play. anyways it can help, worked here too for sure. but try to give all the other people playing at this party the best times you can offer and be the last playing or stuff. works better imo.....
at the end it´s working out a very unique style, which is today not that easy and make yourself a name by your concept. create something different. keep an eye on several partys on your side, think about the things you dont like and you would change to something better. and from there on it´s just doin and be very patient....
