Whats the best way to release my album, selling it to a label to earn some money for all that work?

sending a complete version as 128kb mp3 to labels that release this kind of psytrance and ask if they would like to release it and how much they pay?

Whats the average price u can ask for?

Usually you would get 9-10 times as much as you get for releasing a track on a comp....if you never released anything at all before I would say it will be nearly impossible for you to get an album released.

You have to start with building a name before anyone will be prepared to invest in an album even if your music would be very good....at least that is my impression of the scene nowadays.

Maybe put samples of your album up on a myspace site, start adding some friends and soon enough, if your sound is interesting enough, someone would ask you for tracks.           http://www.myspace.com/fragletrollet

I also think that releasing an album without any previous release is almost impossible. It can be done, but very hard.

About prices. I can say from my last "signed" tracks. One will be on an album, and other on a compilation. And honestly, I didn´t care about it. I´ve just tried to work with reliable ppl!           LOADING...

The best way to sell your album is to make a label interested in selling your music. If your music rocks, then just upload your tracks somewhere and send emails to the labels that release your kind of trance. Send as many as you can. 50, 75 or 100 emails is fine =) However, as practice tells, you won't get many satisfying replies.

is the LEAST thing you should do about releasing anything. Making connections, performing on parties, making connections again and, what’s the most important, getting and polishing skills, working hard and making great music is the right way to get any releases.

actually if its your first release then its quite difficult to work out the price by yourself. Price is the thing that consists not only of music quality. Its also about marketing: how are you popular, how much do you tour and do you have a name at all. Actually 90% of the price forms with the name only. That's why guys there write that its almost impossible to release an album as the first release.
Anyways the label will tell you how much it can pay you for your music. Not you will tell how much you wont until you will ask for the same money as the label can pay

I wouldn't think of making much money off an album if you want it sell well...you will have alot of stuff to paye for yourself.(hopefully your label takes care of that)

1. Have a really good sound
2. Get your cover art done professionally, probably gonna set you back a couple hundred.
3. Get proffesionnal mastering ,also gonna cost a couple hundred.
4. Find a good label, there are so many labels in psytrance now and only 1/4 of them are worth listening too and im sure im not the only one who thinks so.
5. Throw an album launch party.

Average album price is around 15-17 u.s

hey..

i think you should send some demos to labels you think that are in the same style you make..

but if you dont have any realeses i dont think an albom is good for you..try to realese few trax befor..that(hopefully)will make people/labels know who you are.
realesing an albom too soon can do more harm then good imo..

smoke a lotta pot wit a lotta ppl , get them to hear ur music , a lotta music , smoke more pot and enjoy ur music. If it has to , it will cullminate onto a Cd just like magik.

Most important thing is to JAM wit ppl who enjoy ur kinda music. Not necessarily play all ur music all the time , but JAM !!!

build a fan base, thats all . rest follows... look at skazi , bad music , good following = superstar.
