connect the mixer (i think with chinch to 3.5 inch ) with you input slot @ your laptop or soundcard.
open wavelab or soundforgde or similar and press record.. make sure that the output gain is on 0db or little less.

Depending on your sound card, make sure your recording source is set only to whichever Line In the mixer is on.
Make sure you don't hook the mixer into your sound card's Mic In jack, I dunno mine is amped and that's not cool. |

Do you have a minidisc recorder? Might as well try that if you got one, it'll probably have better sound then the built in soundcard.
You can try to use the mic-input, but open the mixer on your computer and go to advanced or something like that, configure for recording, enable the mic in and make sure it doesnt have the mic boost tag checked. |

Good idea Blizzard.
I don't have any Mic boost checkbox on mine, but certainly see if you do.
I guess if you just have a Mic In, you should just try anyway and see how it sounds before you go out and buy something. |

"Mic inputs go through a high-gain preamp stage to boost them up to line level"
if you read the link you might get some ideas... i saw there that you can buy a usb device that can work as input...
investigate a little and im sure you find a sulotion, i would probably try Blizzard´s advice... and check the gain on the mic input so its not too loud.. or on the other hand low..
i dont know what kind of convertion that happens between the mixer and soundcard... maybe its a possiblity to go digital all the way, but using the line is must mean that its a analog convertion?
i need to investigate this my self.. im keen on learning more about different convertions and ways to rout signals... i notice it has a big effect on the quality.
