without an 'amazing professional' recording, no amount of processing will save it.. this is evidence of that, the original dry vocal track was pretty average, and so was the 'finished' product.
or in other words you can't polish a turd. sick mic/preamp + great room = amazing professional sound, even without processing. average vocal track + lots of processing = slightly better sounding average vocal track.

Of course you can, it's just not going to be pretty... Actually it's going to create a nasty mess, so make sure you dont do it in your own home...

Check propellerhead Record demo and see how they process vocals there.... 5 channels for the voice, panned and differently effected....
lots of stuff is about giving one sound lots of dimensions, so it jumps outside the speakers
