Simon is very fond of passing vocals through his MS-20 - he and benji did it a bunch on their stream yesterday and it was super surprising how MS-20 filter + a bit of delay turned a relatively normal singing bit into tripped out psychedelia

also, he uses Melodyne extensively for creative pitch shifting and that 'play up a scale with a voice' bit.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Korg monotron has an aux in, so there you have the original lfo, filter and delay of ms-20 ( the old one), available on eBay, I got mine for $30
I personally don't recommend melodyne, I actually don't like the plugin. Lately I am playing with vocals and my new Moog Ringmodulator, with interesting and quite twisted results...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

Melodyne is the shit. I love it.

Btw the Monotron filter does not sound exactly like an MS-20, even though it's based on the same circuit design, as compromises have had to be made to enable it to be battery-powered. Monotron is much noisier, for a start.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

I'm thinking the same thing as to get a similar effect via the eurorack modular I'm building wil cost around $570. For another $120 I can get the mini which has a lot of other stuff in it. A big eurorack & ms-20 mini will be nice. Just waiting to hear more about the noise issues with the mini.           Cuntus Maximus.

True that, although I am still amazed how the lil bugger cuts through the mix, noise and all...

Got to trial a pair of of Manhattan Anologue MA35 filters yesterday. Ran some vocals through them. Amazing stuff. Look them up although they are modules.

Get a basic rack, you could just build a small rack of filters & FX etc.           Cuntus Maximus.
