i just downloaded a remix pack and listened to each track...
the loudness and quality is crazy... it kills every element i want to add lol
how to deal with this? should i just put the volume down of the files and add my own stuff?
it feels like each sample is mastered seperatly^^
that means i cant compress it anymore, and also not the finished remix (mastering). because that would mean doublecompression.
so i know the basic rule to fix everything in the mix, and make it sounding as awesome as it can be. seems like im 20 years to late with my mixing quality lol.

yes you ever lower everyhting ,or second choice , you mix and master all your sound so they sit well with the original files and leave the original files as they are or lower them if needed if it s too loud and clip.
imo if everyhting is squashed you will have to do the same with your sounds to fit and sit well with the original ones (except if you dont use many of them ) |

I've found this same problem with a few remix packs.
The samples come at insane volumes, basically sound like they normalised.
Usually I just drop them to a nice negative db leveland work from there.
