hi there,

is there a way to mask a link when posting or for the signature?
something like :
[link="http://www..."]Click here ...[/link]

would be usefull sometimes

TinyURL links don't show their target URL in the status line, as 'hidden' links do.

For instance, this link was sent to me automatically on MSN by someone who had a virus:

http: //tinyurl.com/facebook-images-13-06-2010-JPG

Where does it go? I have no idea, but no way am I clicking it, and I strongly suggest you don't click it either.

Of course there is the TinyURL link preview feature but how many people know about that, and how difficult do you want to make this forum to use?

'Hidden' links inside [url][/url] codes don't have this problem as their target is shown on the status line, and are absolutely standard across the entire rest of the internet.

Ok, we'll think about it.

However,when you place relevan keywords instead of "click here" it will affect the seo for linked-to website. We need to think about it. Either to open it for everyone or make nofollow. Both options may harm. May be like other forums do, only old members get do-follow, rest (young) get nofollow.

most forums allow adding your own image/banner hot linked to your site/page on your signature space!

at least after image embedding would be nice to have a "click here" option.
