How to make this sound ???

im talking abt the sound .... tht starts on a note ... for example c and then continues to pitch up sweepingly until 1 or 2 octaves ..
i tried doing it in vanguard , but my sound only pitches up for 5 notes ... tht is frm c to g ...
no matter wat i do ... i dosent go up !!!
hope i made some sense ...
u know sumthin tht goes like this ...
peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnn ....... lol
pls post me an exact and faiproof method of doing it .... !!!

Try putting an envelope on the pitch....that will do the trick...
Or put a long portamento on a sound..and play the lowest note first...and then the highest note...so it'll glide to the highest note...

Or route the modwheel to main pitch. Give it a large modulation value. Then, when you play a note, steadily push up the modwheel or use automation to do this. |

i think envelope or portamento will give the smoothest results.,
mod-wheel has 128 steps so it can be a bit coarse.,

but y does it pitch up only for a few amount of notes and not an entire octavee ????
do i have to do sumthin in the piano roll ???
and btw , i am already using adsr envelope on the pitch !!!

note length?... with portamento... if you want the slide to last for a bar... notes have to last for a bar.... adjust the speed accordingly...make sure the first note played is overlapping the second note played .....and if it is for a 2 octave slide.. then obviously have the notes 2 octaves apart

i think the easyest way is to modulate the pitch with the envelope and make attack as slow as you want it to be...
but you can use portamento or an LFO to do so... i like LFOs  |

Did you try exporting to wave and then working via audio editing software? It will sound less organic but will give an added "wtf?" value in a very good way if you do it right.

hey kaz...can you specify what do you mean
getting to that sound after manipualating
it to audio?...(i do it by pitch modulation
of an oscilator with fm synthesis...) |
