I've tried different kinds of spring reverb with chorus etc, but the wetness of this sound is the problem :/ Hope you can give me some ideas

phaser with high feedback on the mid/high mids + 1/24 (I think... try 1/16 and 1/32 to see which one is right) delay with enough feedback and mix to get that tail you hear.

You can try putting a reverb on it with 0 diffusion, 0 predelay and then a phaser on top of that reverb, just like Pipe n Slippers mentioned above.

There are other methods to get that 'tail' like for instance a small amount of 1/32 delay or even start crunching M/S numbers to get the slapback you want.

I just got the answer to this from Simon P. (Who made it).

That was made using my ‘great british spring’ - a fantastic contraption consisting of a bit of drainpipe with a spring in it…. it might have then had a bit of phaser on it, a russian copy of a smallstone called a ‘kobtek’ or something… i don’t think i have it anymore…. but the main sweeping effect you are hearing is that i swept the parametric eq on the spring return, live as i recorded the mix down…
In the computer…. try ‘spring tank’.. it’s an ensemble for reaktor 5…. or one of the many guitar amp simulators with a spring reverb… i never use my real spring anymore - it’s unbelievably noisy ....
Anyway, much better to make different sounds to me… why would you want to make the same sound? I’m sure your version of the ‘dub rimshot/snr’ is great, and unique to you….. xxxx
