How to make this effect sound?

Sometimes i hear a long effectsound that
goes on forever.There´s no delay on the sound, maybe it could be a sample with looppoints which makes it goes on for a long time and it´s effected along the way.
Anyone who has any tips?

Well, anything that repeats the sound should make it "go forever", and than put effects on top to modulate it "along the way".
I'd say you are speaking about a delay or a reverb: they are very similar, but a delay usually repeats in longer time spans than the reverb (if you put a delay at very small time it acts much as a reverb, bringing a metallic sound to it). If you say it's not a delay, than it must be a reverb.
Put a long time on the reverb and play a small note: the reverb will make the sound go on. In ableton, the reverb has a "freeze" button, allowing it to go on forever.
After using some sort of unit to make the sound "go on forever", automate parameters and effects after it to make it flow, like a flanger, of filter, etc.
I've described to you how to do the common "dub" effect, is that what you want?

Sorry for a late reply, i don´t believe it´s a delay or a reverb but maybe a an effect which freezes the reverb as you mention knocz.
Do you know of a similar effect i can use in fruity loops?
Sure automation of the sound would be interessting. |
