I gotta say, these seem to be pretty handy for the final touch of the bass! density2 brings out just the right harmonics/face or whatever. Thank you so much! Drive 2 is also quite the nifty little thing <3

I like you bass better than the bizzare song I'm not sure what you want by saying rubbery...
like MDMA said, distortion to the high end..
or double the bass line, high pass one of them, keeping only the higher harmonics... then add a gate to it, mess with it so it adds a just bit of extra crispness to the mid/high end
level carefully along with the original bass

Haha, yeah i must say it's really bizarre right now, but thats just because i threw all my ideas together in almost no order, it sort of builds up, down, up and down again since thats the structure i like but its not like i'm halfway close to the final track yet hehe x)
Oh, and by rubbery i mean like, almost a bit squelchy and dry sounding.
but just a little touch of it, many fullon basslines have that really. If only i found a song to illustrate it, but oh well.
But layering the bassline with a highpassed version sounds really like an idéa, but wont it start phazing?
and can you please explain what exactly a gate does? i added a silver gate on my kick because i was adviced to and set it like the instruction did, kick is punching way more and all..
but i assume thats not all i can do with it?

The rubber sound is not coming from the bass.
It is a psysquelch

yee, i know. it was a poor explanation i guess. I guess showing him what a rubbery sound is, was what i was aiming for. i know its not from the bass.
And thank you
and thank you so much by the way!
glad you think its doing great
on 4:30 i set up a nexus, opened the viral infection 2 preset, made a fitting arpeggio pattern as far as i remember... set the amount to 127. added portamento, increased the resonance and cutoff a bit, took the spread a bit to the right and the pan a little to the left and added space designer

yes sometimes they work good , for bass ,leads ,drums.. for free plugs it s cool.give a try to Fracture i think i enjoyed this one if i remember , i used it on bass on first or second saturation mode (beware it can get loud when you switch if i m not mistaken plugin name)with great success on esm with some good equing you can get a nice analog sound.

i m listening on shitty headphone so no idea if it s correct but here it seems the bass lack envelop modulation on the filter , or maybe a boost around 3k /5k dunno..but have no idea about the sound of this headphone..so i could be all wrong

i know that sound tbh. it sounds like you've OVER eqed everything to DEATH. i used to do this when i was learning to mix and that is not the answer. i used boost everywhere and cut everywhere and ended up getting thin sound then trying to boost a certain frequency to make it fat again. you get into a loop of uselessness now so its best to get your sound right from the source then use the eq to just make it sit right.

btw your most recent clip sounds better but i'd put a little more envelope on that filter so that you get a bit more pluck out of the bass sound.
The fact that you can hear how i had to squeeze the high mids out of it by EQ'ing is to me quite amazing i must say. its true!
uh, how do i put more envelope on the filter?
and who is this filter you speak of?
Perhaps you could show me and i'll do it right away?

How its coming along
i have to thank you for all the help you're giving me.
I really appreaciate your patience and all, i hope you dont think i'm spamming down the whole forum
