I did that sound on Waldorf XT some time ago. This synth has a strange FM algorithm, the lead was crazy and very metallic. Any sound from the XT sounds absolutely crazy for psytrance. |

also use a high pitched fm (i mean, the osc that's modulating the other should be in a high octave, usually osc2). try this with synth1. hipass with some lfo or velocity controling it. just tweak

Waldorf Microwave XT uses the wavetable synthesis and has a weird and amazing filter. Today, there are some VSTs using this kind of synthesis, and the ConcreteFX Kubik is a good example. Link below:

It will be able to make similar sounds to the XT. But, a real VSTi emulator from Microwave XT doesn't exist. |

Hi Fugga, really, Komplexer was made by the same DSP engineer that made the Waldorf's synths (Q, Micro-Q, XT etc.). I belong to the Waldorf list and this guy is always there. He said it won't reproduce exactly the
Micro-Q sounds, but it will sound like a Waldorf product, with its own signature sound. With respect the wavetable synthesis engine on it, I don't know much, but it doesn't intend to be like a XT. The original Micro-Q had something like "wavetable synthesis" as well, but nothing compared to the Microwave XT.
I tried the Komplexer's demo version and I can say: this synth is a VST killer synth!

You won't able to import Waldorf Micro-Q patches neither save/load patches. But you can tweak them and bounce to audio ;-)
I don't remenber if it expires after some time. |
