a few tips.
* dont be afraid to have the kick and bass playing on the same beat, there are a few generic progressive patterns (tsabeat mentioned one above) which can be a good starting point but get old very quickly.
* use 2 or more basslines... in progressive you are going for bum wiggling groove... so keep that in mind all the time, have a nice mid range bass with the lows cut out giving the track some drive and use a second sub/sine bass down low providing a bit of movement. Ive gotten some nice low bass out of spectrasonics atmosphere but pretty much every synth can do it.
* sidechaining is your friend in progressive...you can make a realy nice prog bass by sidechaining a big bassy pad (antix seem to do this alot)... dont overuse the effect though. Also, you can have notes run over the kick and side chain them, while using a different bass to do offbeat notes for a bit of interest.
* try modulating the attack on some bass notes) ...try having some notes longer than others.
* try a bit of swing quantise.
* I would resist using the vb1 too much,it has such a hard upfront edge to it. You could make a bassline out of a sweep, a stab and some low notes..maybe use 4 different synths all with low freq content to put together a bassline, minilogue seem to do this a bit
* try some woodier/smoother less hard kickdrums
prog psy bpm is usually around 128 -> 142 but mostly hangs around either 130 or 135.
have a nice day

for progressive bassline .. in addition to what sol connection said .. be progressive in how you make bass and write bassnotes .. different from regular formula but maintain groove and fatness ..
good luck
