The last 3 weeks ive been waiting for my pc to return from reperation , and i am told all the time , that it will take one week more , I am about to go crazy , with this unchoosen brake from music ,
im sitting and playing my virus, tweaking it , but thats it , i cant record anything. Well .. im without music creation possibilities ,
U guys have a good trick to abstract from my CRAVING for making music , ? ...
i feel im going crazy without my pc

Write songs in your head. Come up with the groove, then the bass, and then add leads.
It's fun, and great practice.  |

record certain melodic lines or grooves that you play on virus to a tape... it's easy to remember many things then afterwards.
or if not tape, some crappy small recorder or anything.
Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Buy a cheap recorder and start recording sounds to use in your songs when you get your computer back. |

Get a long thick PVC pipe (6 centimeters in diameter, approx 2 meters long) get some white wax in your local Matas. Heat this up in a big plastic cup in hot water, and when it melts, dip one end of the pipe in the wax, an wait for it to "dry" - do this over and over, until the pipe has a nice mouth-piece, and woopti-doo, you have a didgeridoo... - great fun, when the computer is out...

Thanx for all the tips and tricks , really liked ur idea Amygdala , but also the idea with a cheap recorder , i think i will do this , maybe use the recorder in my telephone and record some virus ideas , until i get it back ..

Only a HIPPY would make a PVC didjeridoo.
...
btw, if you get a 2" to 1" adapter it works *great* as a mouth piece, and is a lot easier than dipping in wax...
so I've been told...

can't u create a multimode on the virus that is multilayered? if so do this:-)...
create a kick with the resonance, assign an LFO to modulate it to creat the kick at yer desired bpm, then the hi hat with noise, get the lfo to sync somehow to the other lfo(by ear if must be), throw an arpeggiator on synced?:-) and just play around that way?:-D
or maybe just jam out a lot and practice your keyboard playing skills so you can write better melodies when the computer is there? or perhaps a hobbY?!:D |

got to many hobbies already ... and luckily got a grand piano in my livingroom ( played piano for 4 years ) ..
BUT EVEN more luckily , i bought a cheap motherboard , AND im back on my pc ..
