how to make good sounds out of bad speakers?
put the surface of the speaker on the surface of water play whatever you want through it then record and mangle voila... seriously there is no such thing as shitty audio gear we just need to find its potential.

I've produced my first track in a couple of pc sound boxes (fucked up)... u can check it in www.myspace.com/zebuconnection...
it tooks a long time to deal with EQ
that's the point in having god speakers... u can deal with eq and volume in a easyer way |

the change from 20€ speakers to 300€ speakers changed my work totally, if you cant hear what a eq or compressor does, its a big mess.

I agree with this.. I mean I know everyone keeps saying gear doesn't matter... but I can literally turn a knob on abletons reverb and hear nothing change at home.. then go to the guitar center on some higher end monitors turn the same knob and hear change. i understand the source material was probably different.. and the acoustics.. ...but.... |

good speakers are very very important imo.
if people can't afford them... at least buy good headphones!
to ear the details, to gain some perspective... and get surprised from time to time!

^ my thoughts exactly... in fact its probably good to harmonize all three... as your skills get better, so should your tools and along this path the "woodshop" should become more organized and efficient as well "acoustically" lol |
