Hi!

I'm just wondering if there is any technique to make a kick drum fill sound realy stable?
like: K---K---K-KKK---K---K---
Maybe i should change the velocity of the kicks that are between the 1/4 if I use midi..But if i use just raw wave-kicks, how do i even make them fit and sound good? Would be grateful for an answer..thanks!

Hm i do it with an envelope.
In FL in the channel settings (also use midi..) you can do a time envelope.
there you can do the hold settings.

Then in the piano roll, it holds the note as long as you make the note, and when the midi note is finished, the sample is also.
so you can do really crank kick-drum-sögens (i say it so )
good luck

I am a Cubase SX3 user and I don't think cubase has that function..maybe som one who uses Cubase knows a method there..also both for midi and raw audio? =)

You can load your kicks in the NI Battery, and make several different cells, with different ADSR. Say, one cell for regular kick and another for drum-rolls, with ADSR tweaked.           http://soundcloud.com/aedem

hi, i would record it to audio, and then cut the kick for example to 1/32 (make sure you cut it clean, that means, cut it where the wave meets the middle zeropoint).

this way works fine for me.

What he said...

If they still "click" just use the fadeout funktion on the end of each kick audio file...           www.iono-music.com

Delete the bass notes, which are playing together with the kicks.           http://soundcloud.com/seamoon

I put all samples directly on audio track. This way i can easily control each of the samples envelope and volume. It's also easy and quick when you need to reverse, timestretch, etc. etc.           myspace.com/auralinvasion
