I´ve heard some music which sounds extremly tight and rytmic .How is this achieved ?
some questions, if kick and bass is tight will the rest added instruments sound tight to it ? or should the added instruments be cut in their length to fit the song ?
If you check out the third mix at http://www.myspace.com/ablos you will hear which "tight" sound im thinking about

I would be very thankful for any advice.

concerning tight and rytmic with drums. it helped me to check always with zooming in into the audio if the hitpoints of a new piece are there where i thought they would be. a little off with f.e. snare can make a big difference.

snare i put precise on quantised points. so this is tight but ohh's did not sound well to me when put exactly on the 16th grid. so then i move the piece a little bit in time and listen where it becomes more rytmic.

offcourse this is just something about the placement probably eq/ing and compressing techniques can play also a big part in it.

i guess you have to dive into it a bit. there is quite some good info on this board>
