About this Snoopy Dog and his wet silly words in this backward idiotish song (And i realy surprised because usualy S.D projects coming with an good production and sound , And here .. What is it ? (Its to take the gold , S.D Back into somthing who sound from the 90's or so)
Usualy (In the real world) When you take a shit its become gold later - As an compost , But here you take the gold into the shit When im not sure he can float in there , Actually he is not So we can hear him drowning in the mix When first rule is the singer in the front (100% of the song Not 30) . The sound is realy bad , This is all sound like made in an dabblers studio .

I don't mean only the master with multiple compressors and maximizer ,and limiter apart of eqs and stereo widening, mono summing to a certain frequency etc. Also the vocals need a heavy dosis of compression with atleast 2 comps, also eq's deesser, a tube or nice distortion and limiter. Gates for noise, bring fades and silence or cut wherever possible. Take all sylables with s and f on another track and treat them seperatley also eq them different than other sylabbles on other vocal channels.
The sends and other channels would be compressed too.On sends also good and rather really high lowcuts make more room. For industry standard it needs surely good big room and monitors cannot be expensive enough but your mix sounds cool and could certainly sound different with more treatment. Good spot of attack and release for a nice pumping makes also big difference IMO. I believe the main difference lies in different compression. Psytrance artist want to keep much more dynamic (wich is great) but in commercial standard there almost is none.

One of Snoop's worst collabs the one with David Guetta if you ask me.
And although I appreciate David Guetta as a commercial success, I think his music style sucks.
Neptunes, Timbaland, Jay Z, Dr Dre made music that pissed and shat over the teenage bubblegum club pop music that tops the charts these days...imo always.

I agree with you Disco Hooligans that this (Black music , Rap and those) Over the world is rocking , Sure , But this is not only because of the slang's or about the argot , There more inside - The sound ! . This guys work with the top studios with an very expensive process , This is not 1 or 2 artists who siting with a glass of coffee and a joint somwhere on the globe , This is a big industry .

it's not easy to get a number one hit.
but any one can make a decent house-y track.. even with loops.. and medium production skills and synthesis skills..
notice that many of the commercial stuff have big promo money behind.. $$ otherwise those tracks would get nowhere imo.
Please go and make a "decent" house tune and come back and let me (and others) be the judge
no offence at anybody. I just also would find it pretty interesting, as you mentioned often that you find it funny and easy shit. Thumps up for your decent house mix here for us to check.
For the trhead question - Still - compress over compress. Maybe with a few compressors in one channel to your liking , one for highest peaks , some more with little settings to make it a bad loud mofo etc.Only this, after hearing your copy, can make it really dramiticaly similiar. IMO. Nice read on soundonsound.
here's a scratch of the track I'm remaking.
all loops and random good sounding synth presets.
the video audio is glitching.. camstudio

many electronica artists work like that. They have a producer 'helping' them producing, because they have around 300 gigs per year. Most of the tracks are produced on the airplane when they are travelling around the globe to play their music.
For example:
Marcel Woods releases his tracks under his name but theres this guy, Walt Jensen making most of his tracks in studio...
Skrillex had more than 300 gigs during 2011, where do you expect him to get time to produce? I say most of his tracks are made during flights in his laptop. That's why many times 'comercial' tracks sound loopish and simple. Then they get their tracks re-produced, mixed and mastered at the best studios by the best in the market and you get that 'pro' sounding...

In every genre you should figure out which samples and sounds to use. Kick, bass, claps, hihats, everything. Each style has it's own character. And every sample it's important to make the whole mix to sounds proper for the genre.
And besides it i think there is a lot of detailed work you don't notice when you listen to commercial music. The sound engineers and the producers that work on it are the best of the bests. Be sure on it...
