what we watch in those videos.. is just the RAW process.
the magic is not on their home studio setup..
no much worth to copy what they use :-/
those producers have a "big" sound because most of the times they make and finish the tracks in a big studio.
it gives another dimension and perspective. it doesn't sound so small.
it's harder to get that at home, even with good monitors and treatment

listen to beatport , i m liseting the top 10 minimal...thas what you get good at home , itb sound, psytrance it s the same..cheap production, it s done in amteurish way, so you get amateurish production...homemade studio with cracked softwares, low end equipment, lack of experience.. it s not comparable to professional production, it s a real buisness with lot of $$$$. just the chain they use to record the voice cost more than your whole studio |

If you wanna really listen like them people do in their studios, you'd ideally need something like the Genelec 1031/1032, upwards.
Not saying the solos are bad, but (budget) pro monitors do show a lot more.
You can get away with a good mix on speakers in the Solo range, but its gonna take some long hours of analytical listening in your studio environment to "identify" the "good" sound.
Peace out.

I love Genelec , I know only 1037 for me the best monitors on earth and the price is a horror PMC certainly rock too but that's another range or I know only the lil ones. Listening to big Genelec is another dimension, mixing even a bigger one. Thats one of my personal dreams for me to have such Genelecs one day in my home. I think a pair with a center around 10 Thousand Euro those I mean. Maybe never hapens. But dreams are healthy

During my early breakbeat vynil days, I requested from the label to be present at the mastering of my music so I can speak to people like Shane at Heathmans and get some pointers. Transition mastering and Heathmans mastering, which had a Genelec 1032 and massive PMC monitoring, respectively were mastering people like Grooverider, to Underwold. You have no idea how different your mixes sound in a proper studio with proper monitoring. Most of the number 1 chart music is mixed at major label studios that cost millions.
You can't compete with that, but you don't have to either. Just be smart and make the best of what you have in your studio. If you ever get signed on a major label, your music will be mixed in them studios as well.
Peace out.

in the video i posted with the producer who made some hits for guetta , he use the 1031 too but these speakers have lot of haters.. the genelec make things sound too good but used with ns10 it s probably a very good combo as many pro studio use this set up + full range |

so the "make gold out of shit" happenes in a big studio where sounds get mixed again.
then, what quality level should a commercial "demo-track" have, to get re-produced in a real studio? i heared that its nearly impossible if you dont have the conections. so do they even care about this polished sound on the demo?
or should i pay for this re-production, and send this?
note that i have no plans making such music, or get money and such, but i feel like i have to know about this
cheers

orgy i doubt it work like this unless you make really good tunes and a label belive in you ...they are probably more intrested to work with etablished artists cause they generate money.
starting with someone that is unknow probably cost a lot and not sure they will see the money back with how hard is the music industry today, add to this loads of extremely talented producers trying to get some deals..
in your studio with some work you should be able to get good sound already,in the same league as some top electronic producers. |

listen comercial electronic music, swedish house mafia and stuff like this it should have less difference in production, guetta..i dont know his music but it s with snoop so maybe it was not the right tune to pick..
btw haven tlisten the tune on monitors and youtube sound crappy but when it come from usa, with money involved, they can work on the production with very taleneted engeinners and great gears, maybe not the artists to a/b your sound too, or not yet.
it s a bit like lisening posford before making some tunes? it make you wonder why making some tunes lol |

even in many other countries the top studio don t nail usa big production.i think usa and uk are leading, dunno have no clue but it s just the impression i have.
i don t mean it s big production with that getta/snoop tune no idea.. but just you get a idea it s not in a home studio with just few years of experience you gonna get the result of some pro with decades behind the console.
even the pro studio here strugle to get the production anywhere as good and close to usa or uk and not sound amateurish in comparaison |

shm uses VES2 bassdrum 068, kick sample from vengeance electroshock vol. 2
on track "levels", avicii uses arena ambience (piano) and accelerator (dance leads) from refx nexus.
there are MANY labels that sell commercial music, and amazingly they are very open to sign artists.
they might not be very popular but they make good money.
there's a market for this kind of music.
it's a copy of what is on the charts.
the producers make a living out of it, and they are also djs on the clubs. on a smaller level, but sometimes they play with the "big boys" headliners.
sometimes people on the psytrance world are totally apart from this.
it's always good to be connected with the club scene. |
