hi i would like to know how to do the dark phart sound typical of darkpsy.. i know it's the lfo one of the most important parts of the creation of this sound, but my results are noisy pharting sounds without too much life(not too much harmonic or heaviness)..so..any suggestion? i put this track from samadhi to understand what is a phart sound according to me the sound starts at the beginning of the track
Peace! |

i think its a sawwave, square or something!
a modulation by LFO i hear!
than some FX on it.
the FIL/AMP ENV is also important!!!!!!!
EQ a small cut here and there!
and the sound is ready for the dancefloor!
hope this helps amigo!

Wouldn't work. First you need to hit record, then fire away.

Thanks. The logic is flawless. The answer to your question was given there at least 20 times before, try checking older threads and don't forget to check The Mother of all Leads thread.

Here's two ideas for you. Take a saw osc and tune it down maybe -24 to -36 semitones. Take a LFO and set it as a low rate (.36 hz) and assign it to the pitch of the saw osc. Have it modulate between 12 and 24 semitones, attach a HPF with mid-level resonance, and attach either the same or a different LFO to the cutoff.
Second idea:
Saw Wave OSC modulated by slightly high rate SINE LFO make sure it's not tempo synced. Send LFO to pitch, but try using a low amt, maybe 12 semitones or less. Keep sweeping the lfo rate till you get that wet squelch. Then start filtering Even if you don't get exactly the same sound you are looking for, you'll might be surprised at what you might find.
An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. |

That is so true. 80% of my sounds are based on that approach.
