How to know what note is a sampled wave?

Hi guys i was wondering if anybody knows how i can get to know what note is a sampled wave on, i have some samples i really like which i would love to get to know which key note they are on so i can easily insert them in my track...

What do you mean by mixed in key program? Sorry i did not understand, i work on logic 8 by the way...

i don't want to sound/or be sarcastic, but i recommend by ear.
more specific: loop your sample, load any synth's init patch (simple sine or saw) and walk your fingers on keyboard (sustaining each note a bit) until you find you're in tune.
it works 100% for me.

if u use cubase u can use the variaudio to see what note and do lots more then that
also u can right click with mouse choose Audio / Statistics
and u should see it there

if i want to duplicate any sound (note) i TRY all notes on my midikeyboard until ive got it, very simple and basic.
