Hello .

I just got my first sound card , the KOMPLETE AUDIO 6 interface .

Should I turn off the interface after I use it or I can keep it connected to the USB after I shut down my PC ? ( if so , 2 leds still work on it even after the PC shut down )

Should I also cover it with something so that it wont accumulate dust or it can damage the sound card ?

i say- keep it clean of dust... always keep good maintenance with your gear.
i would turn off the interface after use. and after your computer is off. there should be a on/off switch on the device itself. if so simply switch it off after use. But, main point is yes i would turn it off. To keep it from burning up you know

There is no on/off switch on the AUDIO 6 , it connected with USB and takes the power from it .

Should I just remove the USB cable from my PC ?

by removing it all the time its a bigger risk of damaging the usb port than is living it on all the time..

the usb is sending 5v at 500mha it will cos no problems in the long run whatsoever as the current is very low.           http://www.landmark-recordings.com/

personally i let everyhting pluged as damage on computer / interface ports is a common issue that hapen with time .

also turning on/off equipment is not good , a technician told me as a rule if you know you gonna use it again the same day leave everything on.
