Or get a cheap Virus if you can't afford analogue.
It has FM, wavetables, ring mod and a very deep modulation matrix.
It won't sound as "pure" but most people don't care about that anyway.

You have an XS mate. That leaves the Phatty standing in terms of modulation and has a great sound. You can easily find a used Moog MF-102 to put that through...and any other source you want really.
The Moogerfoogers are guitar pedals, designed for people to stomp on...they are built like tanks, so a used one is a good choice.

yeah but i m totally broke, maybe in few months when i have money to spend, i would like some fx too..maybe a eclipse i have seen some at good price but i need to be sure it bring something over my plugins .
about the ring have you tried it on voice? a mate told me a ring on voice is the shit, never tried..
the Xs also have a ring mod that use vco A as one input but i m not sure i can t do the same routing as you do.
inspired be your post i made some really cool "classic" fx.. then i got lost having fun and made some more unusual sounds

it dont happen in that sample but i really like when with the ring it sound kind of lofi ,a bit similar to rate reducers but still hifi with no harsness

very soon yes it take 2 minute to get the basic sound , but then from this we could write 15 pages as their is lot of variation that lead to good leads .

I had an Eventide Eclipse in 2004
and it pissed over everything at the time...but that was 2004. Sounded brilliant and not just for crazy modulation stuff....the reverbs of it where stunning as well.

i started on a new track today and got something that sounds a little like what i am aiming for.. still miles away, but well, gotta keep on tweaking i guess..
I didnt work on the melody of the FM yet.. just finished this and wanted to upload something before going to bed.. Thanks all

yes, not necessary at maximum depend the synth. if you use keyboard tracking it should tracks more or less the key played depending the synth.
some sound like 808 kicks are generated using a filter like this i think, try to put the resonance just before it self oscillate, then send a short pulse and you gonna get a kind of 808 kicks . this technic can work great to make some percussion wiht or wihtout envelop on the filter to control pitch...

hey, i got myself a nord rack 2 for christmas, anyone familiar with this swedish masterpiece ? It has FM Modulation so i guess it will be all good for the kind of sound i want to make ? I guess its just about tweaking
i like the filter, it seems to go up to ultrasonic sound, no limits..
i played around with just the filter playing only the trigger note on the rack (havent got my masterkeyboard yet).
seems soundclouds compression cant handle all those mad frequencies o_o
