How to get the text out from a movie without background sounds

Hello, how can i take a text from a movie and get it into Cubase? with out getting all the background sounds with, so it only is the things they say.. |

well first you have to take the audio from the movie, then select the part that you want to sample, then put it in cubase and make some EQ adjustment´s.
i use audition, to sample\ cut the audio from movies, but i think it´s also possible with cubase |

If its a dvd surround, there are some tools to export all audio channels separatelly....but i´ve forgot how  ....there are some threads about that try a search you might be lucky.... |

trying to get vocals out is pretty difficult and imperfect(pitch variation,unknown freq etc.)
try this
1.open sample in soundforge or n e other audio editor
2.open 20 band equalizer
3.bring all the bands down to -inf
4.click preview
5.and try to adjust the bands to get the vocals only
try making a plug in chain.. |

Becoz the extraction is so imperfect if theres music in the background, ul find people use creative ways of incorporating the background noise or completely distorting the sample so that the noise is also distorted, ie a robotic vocoder effect.
But pretty much if eq doesnt work then u have 2 b creative.  |

if i am understanding the question you just can't ...
I mean digitally remove only some audio tracks of a video is only possible if you've got the project where that was edited, like Avid, Premier or Final Cut...

oh well yes i know it's expencive, but we talkin about ways to do it.....so here we go!
also there is Demo version avalible from the site, so u can try it out..... almost full functionality except that only files up to a length of 3 min can be loaded and saving to hard disk is disabled......but well i'm sure u can find other ways to capture da cleaned sound  .....if not than fill free to pm me, posseble we could arange somethin....
i using all products from Algorithmix about 8 month now and really happy with them !!!

I guess the best way is to record it from a multi-channel audio track, separatelly. Then you take the center channel. |

you need gate compressor/expander.
basicly if compressor was ment to close dinamic range..then expander or gate are ment to make the range bigger..so the music which is lower then voice get lower and the voice gets bigger.it is not always posible and not always comes out good but:
eq can take out freq' from the speek part-not so good.
xnoise-ment to take out noises and hisses..can also damage the speek.
anyway..everyone with his methods-there isnt right or wrong..try every method and see what you like..

was wondering if somebody could help me with cutting out samples from movies intself.......... i saw the thread on it...... just softwares mentioned. can't quite figure it out |

Open a sound editor such as soundforge or wavelab, and while you play the movie press record...
And the simplest quickest whay if you have Audition: File>Import Audio from Movie
