try to make good music first using the bassline as you can handle it, and then with work, with years of experience you will become better, when you understand how to use compressors and mix correctly...
10 years ago there was incredible music with slow basslines, but the sound was intesting because the music had content, they had intersting percussive and cultural elements on... nowadays newbies like you instead of making good music, aparently are worried about in learning a suposed working formula...
thats wrong, and your not trying to be an artist because you enjoy music, your just another guy wanting the lightspot, wanting to be DJ because you think it will bring you money, girls, status bla bla bla...
otherwise if it was just for music, you would simply do it, you wouldnt bother in came to foruns ask formulas, you would do the normal learning curve by your self, but no, your greedy, you want to be an "artist" the fastest you can, so you want to make a formula today, you want to perform in partys tomorrow...
thats completly wrong, anf if you chose to go that way, you will fail for sure...
my advice is simple; before pretending to be an artist, try to be one, learn music, make music and then make trance, because to produce good trance you need to be a good musitian first
y waste ur time bruv?

I did this one with Alien303 and used a layered kick. I just went through loads of samples til I found one that really rolled the bass and felt "tight". I find that getting the "right" kick and bass combo really helps. Too bright or clicky a kick and the whole beat is too thin, too subby and it all goes mushy. Sometimes just getting that right kick makes all the difference.
Ask three people you will get 3 different answers regarding compression etc but all will agree that getting the right sound at the early stages is vital. Also, I feel that even though the fast tempo added to the "aggression" of my beat it didn't make it "dark".
From what I've heard of your beat (and the update)I would suggest you look at your kick first to add weight to the bass you already have and then adjust both until YOU like it. You already have a good, idea the rest will come with practice. I get a red face when I hear my early stuff now but I had better ideas when I knew nothing at all.

yeah mate, that's what I meant by it "adds to the aggression but not the darkness", you see what I mean now? That's just a Dark Trance preset in Alien303 but it really comes into its own at faster tempos.
Of course I made this tune stupidly fast (175bpm)but my point is that the kick has as much effect on how tough and strong the beat feels more than fast tempo or even how much bass. It's playing around to get a balance of each.
