EDIT: riciardo I just posted a bassline sample dude... you have to start with something...why dont start with the main beat?
|
|
there yea go, another mistake, most of comon people think that a good way of starting a track is with the beat... WRONG
you start from content dude... you need to play synths, explore synths, creating sounds, doesnt matter how disconected they are, how silly, you need to group ideas, and then yes, you put everything togheter and you create a ritmic base with a beat, and percussive elements... by starting over from a beat, wich is psytrance case is no more than a repeated formula, your following the same mistakes...
im sorry if i sounded rude to you, but i am really sick of watching growing styles like that, with a simple kick and bass full of compression and poor synths above of it, and this happens because most of people thinks that the base and the kick are enough to make a decent psytrance track... they arent, you definitly need content |

Almost everything you wrote in this answer contradicts your other answer, i'm not sure you know what you're talking about (no disrespect), because if one doesn't ask for advice and guidance from people who already make psytrance (like the doods here on isratrance), one doesn't know how to achieve that psytrance feeling, therefor not even a simple and basic bassline one can make whithout that psy orientation, who cares if he has basic basses, i like his style, and i also know that he's a promise for the future, and he's getting better at it, and this, and that, you know..

my advice is simple; before pretending to be an artist, try to be one
|
|
So you're saying that begginers should make good music right away and skip the learning process because "the" learning process is where all the artists suck at. I'm sorry but that doesn't make any sense.. Be a real artist before trying/pretending to be one? One HAS to f****ing try/pretend to be one or one doesn't get anywhere.

Ricciardo- hahaha. Kindly get bent, mate. Again, if you don't have any constructive advice to give someone other than 'learn to make music, DUDE!' (which is essentially what you're saying) then you really have nothing constructive to contribute. To ignore that there are 'formulas' or set ways of doing certain things in certain styles of music, or to assume that everyone has to discover how to do them themselves if they want to make a certain style of music is idiotic. Again, the whole point of this forum is to share information and for what you would perceive to be newbies to learn from those with more experience. Not to tell people 'you suck. do it yourself.' I know it's not going to happen, but it would be awesome if knowitalls like yourself would keep your opinions to yourself if you can't or won't answer the actual OPs original question. It would make this place so much better. |

this Ricciardo is really a funny guy... he insists... please move him to "mother, master, super, hyper, ultra guidance" topic and let us, poor people, with our stupid nonsense doubts about music production. ahahahahha
@panike, I think I got your point and I don't really think you need dark production tips. you are in the right path. it really sounds more morning or fullon.
and about goa gil, as far as I know, he doesn't really produce. all his releases are compilations or remixes. I had opportunity to speak with him once in brazil and it is amazing all the music he can get from his DAT (digital tapes!!) arsenal.
  always learning...
