i think he means plugs like ozone imager mb stereo enhancer.
btw one thing: monoizing don't fix phase issues. it just make sound mono. if there is any phase cancellation, then after monoizing these freqs are cancelled, not fixed http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450
