Not sure and did not read everything again but was panning mentioned? Panning and autoPan are very useful to archieve a better sound, wider stereofield etc.
I agree with geom on the toolbox comparison, in the last months I more and more notice that when I know what to use when and how or at least that this or that could be useful/worth a try is important to get a sound somebody would be satisfied with
e.g: a sidechained(kick) comp on the send reverb channel to clean the mix a bit from the reverb and add subtle "breathing" to the sound picture and maybe some stuff to add... chorus, disto... depending on the adjustemnts...WTF why did I never did such things before?!(ofc send reverb sound passes an eq or 2)
so a key role is experience definitly and I would say that the more experience and knowledge you have the easier it is to gain new/understand new stuff, just keep on going.

if u make the sound fat from the synth it self, there is no need to do any thing. More we get it into synth programing, Lesser are our inserts.
Recently I made one track with an old time producer. He did not even look at the insert effects. He was finishing it while he making the sound on the synth. Most of the time no eq... just choosing the right note on right octave and very much concerned with the harmony to one another.
He also knew which sound he wanted to make. Not like experimenting with synths and no presets coz every track has it's own timbre.
I learned so much. At the end, I realized we can only have this kind of quality and our own sounds only with lots and lots of experiences.

lol - na get it louder and still be safe i ment its the warmth and ultra clear clarity i love about a couple of the Nomad analog..multi-max epecially - used carfully of course and after my eq, comp and FX this is grrreeeaaat like frosties, you can chuck in some serious input into this machine and still sound round safe as houses
take it even further if u wish. thats a chain of many combinations that pushes your good synthesized sounds, kiknbass or samples audibly forward....
all about gettin the maximum quality from the minimum on the individual, nomad is great 4 this mixing work... -In a healthy return u get a "fat crystal clear sound" with careful methodical tweaks

i usaully go for - Eq - comp - fx - Tube Screamer - Elevayta Wider boy - Bxcontrol - AMT Multi Max - L3-ll multi as a chain if sound designing on separate channels - this order will evolve and it does greatly depend on how good the Original source is , choice of patterns, automation and stereo placement Etc so dont expect random magic
i had phase mistress tweaked in the middle of this and i was able to really hear and get inside the fat meaty liquidy jelly that that phaser produces lol..
obvoulsy take it further explor different chains and orders.. after all it depends in the order in which u put em in, just be assertive on the Input Thresholds and Output ceilings
can tear it apart just like any tool.

true mate,, im with u aswell on gettin the best from the synth - it goes without saying.. im just saying nomad are good for th warmth...and i mentiond if sound designing for bouncing ,not making a track...
that aint alot mate really...eq is always gunna be there aswell as destortion mate so i dont kno why your trying to undermine me lol
so u can use as many plugins as u like all im doin is tweaking rules like a alchemist in a laboratory to see what sounds magic and dont.
you kno atcually its funny u kno why coz i was lookin lastnight to see if anyone agreed wiv me on the analog tools and well lol u did mate so dont contradict lol
http://forum.isratrance.com/nomad-factory-plug-ins/
yep massive has sum great FX - dimension expander for one! nice distortion algorithms also
i just like to push it further after thats all - bord with basic
i spose for a beginner best not to go near the nomad analog etc soz,,so synth wise yeh stick with that those that have just started keep it simple....

mate you should get the satson full, it s a good plugin with more option, i like all sonimus plugins a lot !
he is working on a more complet version of soneq , this eq is great.
about phatness it can come a lot from contrast too..ssomething can appear huge sounding cause of a sound that is less in contrast. |
