No, I don't use bassizm.
I use my own generator based on the infected tutorial - but alot of synths could also do it - as long as they have three free envelopes and don't limit the amount of pitch mod you can apply like alot of synths do.

cool. I'll have to try that. Is it my understanding you assign 3 pitch envellopes ?
It seems to me you managed to apply the infected technique real time successfully.
Now somehow you mentioned some synth have the ability to use 3 free envellopes (I guess pitch) but you made your own plugin.
I'm curious why? is it for ease of use or because you were not happy with the result you got with other synths ?

| I dont like this idea too much
we want to learn to make kick like in the cd not to cut and paste it!
usefull tutorial will be to send great kick sample and explain it from scratch.
might do it soon , if i got some free time..

No matter what gets the job done... but I do agree I rather make my own kick of the same caliber than sampling it.
Unfortunatly like I said earlier I haven't heard many good kick posted in this forum.
If you know how to make such good kicks than I think I will be looking foward to your tutorial

You can use sylenth1 and create really good kicks if you manage it's ropes well.. and comes with 2 envelopes too!
I am currently using bazzism because you can actually tune the kick better , but i have noticed that with Sylenth one i was making better kicks faster for some reason...
as for using samples i find it quite impossible to match it and eq it with an existing bassline... not yet maybe,

self oscillating filters make good kick too but i heard it s something that is hard to model on digital synth (still can make some good weird souding kick ),if anyone got a analog and post a sample by cranking up the resonance on a lpf and using envelop modulation and post ,would be intrested to hear the virus filter emulation too |

Ripping a kick from a track as part of a "kick-tutorial"
Makes no sense, coz where comes "the origin" - kick from??

I think there is no one way tutorial for a great kick - as it has to fit the track and vice versa...
My way is maybe like this:
1. Pitch-down sine wave several times, try to get the sound u are after (i mean the "kick" & "sub")
2. Layer more kicks, or precussive instruments
3. Group this, and put on eqs and compress it as u like
4. Render and experiment again with steps 1-3
Done
And u got ur own self-made kick...quite a good feeling to create something

Its as part of THE BASS KICK tutorial...which I probably won't do at this point...)
And its called how to get a good kick...
Its not difficult to understand its a technique like any other and it works.
Like it or not it make perfect sense to me.

My point is: Where would any kick come from if everybody took them from other tracks?
There wouldn't be any kicks at all
