sounds like the kick plays also the bass notes.
standard: kbbb
but instead of a bass synth use the same kick sample, maybe lower the top end of it with some eq/filter to make it a tad different from the real kick. then play with velocity of the "bass". make the 2 lower and 3 and 4 higher velocity wise.

Yep, one thing to try: design your bass with a pitch bend controlled by an envelope - the same recipe used for synthesizer kicks, with the same pitch then the kick. Take it from there. Delay is nothing more (if used like this) then repeating the original in time and in sync. So why not design the thing with full control?
Sounds to me like a typical 909 sort of Kick and Bass. |
