How to find out controller values in Logic?

I use a midi controller keyboard with Logic Audio and need to find out what all the different controller values are in the soft synths and plug-ins I am using.

I am primarily using the massive ES2 and have worked out alot of the controller values by trial and error, just trying one value after another and seeing what knob or slider it moves on the screen.

Is there an easier way to find out the values than trial and error?

If anyone knows of a good method of determining what value controls which on-screen parameter than I would love to hear it.

Thanks for your help.

in hardware usually the manual contains all MIDI information about the synth. i think the same should be with softsynth.
if you lost your manual, contact emagic and they will send you some kind of copy.
u can also try kvr-vst site.

Here's a hint:

press Pause and Rec, then turn a knob in the softsynth u'd like to know about...
on the Transport window, where u see the midi messages, u should see the controller number u are triggering.

If this doesn't work (rarely it doesn't), u could just record a sequnce of just moving the knob...
then go into the event list of the object recorded, and check the conotroller events...

Peace.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

...or simply go to the enviroment on the 'audio' layer, create a monitor (on the New menu), plug a cable from your audio instrument 'mixer object' to the monitor.
When you change one parameter over a plugin, you'll get the controler, the channel and the value on the monitor!
