I highly recomend Logic 5.1 - it's a good one!
and of course you should get monitors - with an upgraded computer and a good soundcard, you'll have a decent system to create alot of good stuff -

If you're planning to work using long audio files in your track, buy a powerful computer with a fast HD 'cause they use a lot a HD resources (or CPU resources if you're using a virtual sampler).
BTW, are going to work in midi? You have lots of ins and outs on your future Delta card, and if you're not going to work in midi, most of the ins/outs will be of no use to you.

We Will work with midi in yes, and is 7200rpm enough on the hd? my new computer will be a 1700mhz or 1800 amd.
