sorry if this is sortof new question here....

but i need to know how do i go about creating a video for a track?

I have a track that closely follows the storyline of a movie. Now, i need some software that can take parts of the movie and put it together with the music...

and i need some preferrably free software for creating the video.

sorry if this is way off-topic, but then again, i guess it comes under "Equipment"           Interviewer: "So Frank, you have long hair. Does that make you a woman?"
Frank Zappa: "You have a wooden leg. Does that make you a table?"

First you need a video of course - either 3d animation or filmed or whatever.
Edits are done using video editing programs such as Vegas or FinalCut(mac)

not sure about the freeware ones like the XP moviemaker.

b.t.w in cubase sx2 you can add a video track so you can write your music synced to the time line of your video

thanx, i'll try that...but does it give you an option of using multiple video clips in the same track?           Interviewer: "So Frank, you have long hair. Does that make you a woman?"
Frank Zappa: "You have a wooden leg. Does that make you a table?"
