LOL That's true, you could write a breakbeat track with no breakbeats in it at all, and give it a catchy, funky genre name
After all, it worked for psytrance.
Funny indeed. He's not talking about breaks as in breakbeats, though. He's talking about Tiesto and Van Buuren competing in who can hold his arms in the air longer. I could live without that.

i think it s just a loop (breakbeat or no kick loop that play with the rest of the beat )for the break it play in solo and they style it a bit , if i understand what you mean.

Lots of funny punks and very little good information.. C'mon IsraTrance, stop kidding around - If you don't have anything useful to say, don't say it.
My two cents: Play the break drums yourself. The best way would be with a real drum kit (acoustic, acoustic triggered, digital..), but if that is not accessible then innovate with something else. Play the drums with drum pads, with a midi keyboard or even with your computer keyboard (when everything else fails...)
I tend to use my midi keyboard a lot for drums, layering it up until I have that I like. Like this the drums have a human touch to it and I have more control over them (versus painting it in a sequencer...).
If you are using the same kick in your track as in the break, be careful playing it this way: the kick can become nasty when the velocity goes over the normal 100, I usually use a limiter in the velocity in the kick so anything over 100 stays at 100.

i like to leave some opinion of mine according to that. so basically i´d say i found my way for decetn breaks or even longer break phrases by keeping my tracks free of them first. first i had to find the flow in my music before i was able to go ahead for decent break phrases not destroying rather underline your story. often even pros use breaks to hide difficult passages of their song they dont know how to go on with or just to make something interesting which wouldnt be without a KilLaArRRRg break.
soo to keep it interesting, my way for giving it a lil interesting touch during changes in my tracks or passages i think some break would fit better than a rolloff with manual edit glitch stuff behind is something like.... well, i think about cool and interesting manipulations of a sound or whole phrases of my song, catch up the content and automate different fx on it. record it, match the start/end point of automations, choose the ones i like most, cut, rearrange and just follow a way like filling the empty space i kept for the break or made free for the break. i decide on the position of the song and how it developed so far if im doin longer or faster break, if i go for long automations or short hitting sounds i cut, apply different fx on each, rearrange them and make a glitch out of it..... btw i dont like the plug, but most ppl i guess already know
theres a lot one can do, i like to record the sounds or contents over and over again one time with a flanger and filter on it i.e. next time with lots of bitcrush and reverb on it, another with deep delay one tripl. one 4th maybe..... just think about it, it´s kinda simple if you think creative and know how your chain will sound at the end. i dont have to hear and think about it, i know how it will sound like and just think about the automations and how i want it to sound at the end. the only importance is to set a crazy automation matching the others and the time they all got to play, cut and rearrange interesting and creative, consolidate same and there you go....
btw, when done with that, one could go ahead to have some fun and throw THAT into dblue glitch ^^ kiLlaaAAAAAARRRggggGG..... anyways.... dont like glitch xD
just one novel (i often feel fooled when i finally have to click the "Quick Reply" button ) of a shout i wanted to leave, at least often my way to go for things

ive been using glitch but also short little beeps or clicks sped up or doubled.....gltich is good but theres only so much u can do with it....try to make a melody using ur kick sample but in a higher octave...i did this recently for a break and also ended up using it as a melody pattern....also listen to lots of entropy...they are the masters of breaks

Never thought psytrancers would have that much aversion to breaks. Maybe i should try something like http://www.nuskoolbreaks.co.uk
Sometimes i'm amazed by the narrow minds around here and obtuse answers i get towards this kind of subjects...
Of course i know creative and innovative breaks only come after trying, thinking and being actually creative and innovative by myself... but i'm sure there are many technical stuff that can be mentioned and a couple of tips just to help me out in the process of crafting my ideas.
By the moment i'll keep listening to my favorite breaks and keep trying to get them right.
You don't have to go to an extreme and think of a track made of pure breaks... this is just a characteristic, a tool... like drum fills, like guitar solos, like arpeggio lines come the fuck on.
Can't you say something like: try a couple of 32th snares, bounce and pitch shift, reverse some samples and automate bit crusher?
Come on it is a fucking production forum. Most answers are stupid like: get dbglitch or sample breaking stuff.

If somebody could simply tell you how to do that, it wouldn't be original or innovative anymore.
Sorry i disagree, i think there are small tips and tricks that make the difference and can be explained very simply.
Any way... enough ranting... sometimes i expect a lot from the internet... dun worry i will keep polishing my own technique.
Cheers...
And enjoy some quality breaks you trancey anti variation geeks xD
Check on 3:10
And shit bricks.
P.S.
Many thanks to the ones that actually contributed with solid info on the subject, sorry for the shit storm xD
