Actually it is not a real Midi controller but it's an old Electric piano (organ),a Yamaha PSR-12 ,very old.
my friend does'nt need it anymore so he gave it to me, i dont have a midi c. so i thought i might use it to control my Reason or Cubase.
can some explain it to me how to plug it up and set it correctly to reason , if possible?

get a midi cabel and a adapter where you plug the midi cabel in, and then in your joystick port.

some/most sound cards for audio production have midi connections built in. if you plan on getting hardware synths in the future, you may want to invest in one. |

midi cables plug into a serial ports on your computer. 90% or more computers have at least one serial port.
here is a good example. one side is midi (connects to your keys) and one side is serial (connects to your pc). http://www.zzounds.com/media/feed/large/THKTW12MC1.jpg
but then again, i'd go for a full out audio producer sound card. you get your audio inputs, outputs, and midi connections all in one. but if you arnt looking to buy hardware synths, then dont bother with a sound card... a cable like this is good enough. |

i have never used reason before. check the help files, faqs online, or wait for someone else that may know what they are talking about to come along. |

U can also buy a usb-midi interface. U just plug it into a usb-port at one side, at the other side are midi plugs which you plug into your piano.
Here you can see which one I use on my pc

But if you have a joystick port or a midi port on your soundcard, you just use that ofcourse...
greatz |

that's not serial port dude, it's a game port. many sound card use to come with this port, but I don't know if that's still the case. the game port is larger then the serial port. see:
